Every family, at one time or another, finds itself in the midst of a crisis -- a situation that can be particularly challenging for the families of those with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Gateway's Advance Family Support Services program offers compassionate, family-oriented guidance to help your family through this trying time.
Our caring team of professionals will work with all members of your family to develop an appropriate course of action -- with an emphasis on both behavioral modification and coaching parents and other family members in the skills they need to get through the current crisis. We can also provide you and your family with more long-term support by offering you assistance in navigating those evaluative, diagnostic, or habilitative services that might be right for your particular situation.
MSC services might include:
-Applying for and maintaining Medicaid
-Facilitating appropriate evaluations
-Filing and maintaining guardianship papers
-Applying for recreational and habilitative services
Once services are in place, our MSCs monitor those services to ensure that the needs and desires of those they represent are being met. Working in collaboration with the individual and his or her advocate, MSCs develop an Individual Service Plan, or ISP, which they review together and modify every six months.
